Volunteer Application

The John R. Ragsdale Visitor and Alumni Center is the welcoming point of Sam Houston State University. Our office is open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Visitor Center will be closed on certain holidays, so check our holiday schedule before you plan your trip.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to call or email our office to make an appointment for a campus tour. Your call allows our office to ensure that a student is available to give you a tour.

The Visitor Center will make every effort to accommodate any requests you may have; however, all tours are scheduled based on staff availability.

School groups are also invited to visit Sam Houston State University. Buses are welcome and can be accommodated. We can provide student tour guides for walking tours or bus tours, but the visiting group must provide transportation for bus tours. Contact our office for more information.

Guests requiring any special accommodations while visiting the campus are requested to contact our office in advance.
